Unmanned Vehicles in Archaeology

The study helped prepare appropriate guidelines for the safe use of the unmanned USV system as a mobile support platform for Underwater ROV and UAV vehicles, for archaeological research, survey and area protection tasks.

The DIA Scientific Division consultants took into consideration some USV vehicles. Based on these systems they developed methods, behaviors, management and techniques to carry out research and survey tasks in the Mediterranean Area in simulated scenarios.

The documentation produced was also used for the development of DIA Approved Courses such as Underwater Accident Scene Investigation and Underwater Exploration.
