Energy Shelters

Energy shelters offer a safe access area in the presence of fires, explosions, toxic substances and gases.
DIA Scientific and Medical Divisions have prepared guidelines for the safe use of shelters in critical environments, to improve the knowledge of those who work in the energy field.

Specifically, the R&D Consultants examined the internal LSS (Life Support System) which regenerates and controls the levels of humidity, temperature, oxygen and carbon dioxide in internal environment. Types of filters and pumps have been tested and evaluated for their efficiency.

Furthermore more attention has been paid to the layout of the facility, which includes the use of BIBS or Scott masks, communication systems between the internal and external environment, video surveillance devices, heating and cooling units, and support gases.
