Rescue at Sea
DIA Scientific Division implemented rescue procedures through the use of unmanned technologies. It considered a rescue scenario set in the North Sea where weather and marine conditions can become very dangerous.
The objective was to evaluate and study the effectiveness of self-rescue through the use of standard equipment for survival in water such as the survival suit and the jacket and the use of support tools launched from the rigs to increase the safety of the workers at sea.
Various devices were evaluated before carrying out the procedures. USV vehicles combined with the support of UAV systems have proven to be very effective in reducing time spent in the water.
