Public Health Emergency Officer
Environmental disasters such as earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, fires and floods occur at any time and have devastating effects on people, the environment and structures. During these natural disasters, civilian and military personnel are called upon to intervene. They are involved in various health emergencies and to manage other types of man-made incidents.
The DIA Approved Safety Officer Course for Public Health Emergency Officer aims to strengthen the preparation, knowledge and skills of officers. The course increases prevention and assessment of hazards and risks, mitigates risks and improves disaster preparedness to respond effectively while maintaining safe behavior in all circumstances.
The Safety Officers and Mangers exams are held online in live synchronous mode by the DIA CRD Unit, DIA Executive Commission, Trade Union and Employers’ Organization authorized to issue Occupational Health and Safety certificates. The test includes the assessment of occupational health and safety topics in accordance with Legislative Decree. 81/08. Many of the questions involve safety and security procedures, rules and behaviors for safe working.
The exam questions are different for each candidate. Upon completion of the theory test, the candidate will sit individually to be assessed and to confirm the exam answers. The examiners and auditors will lead the candidate in a logical reasoning about the various topics to evaluate his effective preparation. In addition, the commission reserves the right to use other evaluation methods.
